Clerics & Bards?

Hello, Thanks a lot, |

-There’s really no randomness to the Bard’s poison making ability now, but some have mentioned issues with the cost involved. -Clerics in the Burnt World of Athas material have elemental themed domains similar to a standard 3.5 version cleric domain. There are still the spells selected from the general cleric list accessable to all elemental types. -Druids, from what I’ve noticed, are identical to the 3.5 Player’s Handbook version, only changing the wildshape selection. And welcome to Athas Javier. |

Not sure if you’d want to do it this way, but I sorta imported the 2e way of doing poisons. At every level, I allowed the bard to roll a d30, which is roughly how many poisons were on the chart in the DMG. I would then count down, and they would learn how to make that poison. They could make 1 dose per day from scrounged up mats, free of charge. I think I house-ruled that the free poisons lasted a week then became inert. Now, they could pay the regular prices to make the same poison if they wanted more doses, or wanted to make others. If, upon gaining a level, the Bard rolled the number of a poison he already knew, then he now knew how to scroung up and make that one at +2 higher save DC… etc. They could not, however, pay the price to make these poisons at the higher save DC, they were strictly allowed in the free ones, that lasted a week, to avoid abusing them and selling them. These were basically self experimentations, and not things that they would sell off. That’s how I did it anyway. |

My biggest problem with the poisons in this edition is the expense and the low DCs. It would be cool if you could get the DC to level up with you or something. I know you can spend a trade secret to get it to go up by about one, but that doesn’t seem worth it. |
