Hello, I was wondering if the swatter really swat so much… I know its a really big spiked club used to beat Thri Kreen to a bloody pulp, but 1 d 12 if used by small users and 2d8 if used by mediums… Could it be that it’s 1d12 for mediums and 2d8 for larges? Also, ain’t the X4 For critical is a little bit over the top? And, of course, a REALLY big thank you to all the team for keeping our wonderfull, yet not really pleasant place to live, Athas alive!!

It´s an enormously sized exotic weapon with a metal core. I think the damage is reasonable. There are multiple weapons with x4 crit multiplier. You can always adjust it for your own game.

The point is that in the hand of a half giant, it does a whooping 3d8 ! I know that half giant are, well, half a giant, but that much damage output?! All sizes taken into account, I still have problem with a crushing weapon being far more deadlier than a greatsword, damages and critical included. The stone and hill giants are both great non spiked club user, who deals 2d8 plus strenght. I don’t see why the spikes , even bronzes one, are worth that extra d8. Thanks for your advice Jon!

Since there are two-handed martial weapons that do 2d6 damage (19-20 or x3), from a mechanical stance it’s not unreasonable that an exotic two-handed weapon does 2d8 (e.g. one damage increment increase). In combination with the x4 critical, I agree it is a very potent weapon.

This is an interesting debate over a swatter being overpowered. I have a player in the DS game I run, which I know if he found out about this weapon he would jump all over it. To me the swatter does seem to be a bit overpowered, but if it does have a metal core like Jon//Oracle said previous to this, then I think I would adjust the price from 100cp to something that might strain his funds. I dont have a problem with the damage, I would just like him to earn it.
