There used to be a very ‘plain’ conversion of the 2e dragons to 3e/3.5e that required 20 levels in both psion and defiler, 9th level psionic powers etc… have googled but to no avail… anyone have a copy of them, or home-brewed rules that stick to the original concept of 20/20 levels?
Have a new group that are keen to play, but totally against the idea of psi-warriors being dragons!

I don’t have the system that you’re talking about or know of it. I would say that using gestalt rules helps with the 20/20 problem; just use the epic rules as is.

OK, i have found a reference to the page i’m looking for:

Anyone know of any web archives that might have it, or does anybody from the community have a copy of it floating around on their hard-drives?

Ok, so this is how I imagine the Dark Sun Dragon. I have converted it to 20 levels.
The Dragon would require a whopping 20 levels of both Psion and Defiler. Every level that the Dragon gains confers an extra 24 power points and a d12 hit die. The skill points would be 2+int mod., and no additional skills become class skill. The Dragon becomes proficient with all of it’s natural weaponry. The creature type would change to Dragon [Augmented Humanoid] (or augmented whatever the base creature type was).
Every level of dragon would give a +1 to the base creature’s natural armor. For every five levels of Dragon that the creature gains, his size category increases by one, to a maximum size of colossal. It has spell resistance equal to 10 + the amount of size categories it has grown. The Dragon gains natural attacks based on it’s size as a true dragon does. At 10th level, the Dragon gains the ability to use it’s breath as a deadly weapon. The Dragon’s breath weapon is a cone of white-hot sand that deals 1d12 damage per level. Half of this damage is fire, and half is slashing. The DC is 10 + 1/2 level + Con modifier. Use it’s size category to determine the size of the cone. This is what most Dragons would choose for their breath weapon, feel free to change the damage type and whatever. At level 5, a dragon gains the ability to fly. Refer to the true dragons to determine it’s flight ability based on size. Every time the Dragon gains a size category, apply the following statistics: +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Dexterity.
So, that’s pretty much how I imagine it.

Hi Ghargen;
Haven’t been here in ages, still have it in hard copy but would love the electronic resource. If you could email it to me via u3023007 [ at symbol here] uni.canberra.edu.au
For the record, I bust my butt trying to find the document and trying to track down a current email but to no avail – glad to see you are still around and involved.
