Pathfinder Dark Sun Classes

I’ve done Pathfinder updates of the Gladiator, Templar and Bard classes. I based all of them in the new classes that Pathfinder is releasing in Advanced Player Options: the Gladiator is based on the Cavalier (minus all the mounted combat and chivalry abilities), the templar is based on the Inquisitor and the Bard is based on the Alchemist. My gaming group seems to think that it’s worked pretty well. Bard: http://darksunpathfinder.blogspot.com/2010/07/b… |

I like what I’m seeing, although I’ll need to wrap my head around some Pathfinder-compatible psionics to actually start a campaign. The only issue I see is with the bard, where I’m not sure how well his almost-but-not-quite spell powers mix with the setting flavor. I’m thinking it might be a good idea to declare them psionic in nature, and the bard being just a drug dealer on steroids whose junk will actually make your mind do things it wouldn’t possibly do otherwise (the jokes write themselves but the explanation still fits the Darksun Bard too well to dismiss). |

Totally agree oscarmv, ruling that the bard’s extracts and performance abilities are psionic is a quick fix and makes more sense on Athas. For Pathfinder compatible psionics you can check out Dreamscarred’s conversion of the rules. You can find all alpha and beta Pathfinder versions of all psionic classes and prestige classes through this link: |

BTW, you can get the the beta version of the new classes (on which the Bard, Gladiator and Templar are based) for free at Paizo.com: |
