Hi everyone, it’s been a long time since I play D&D, I almost jumped the 3/3.5Ed completely. I wanted to start a DS campaign soon, and was looking for info. I would like to try the new 4Ed. rules, but I still have a LOT of my original DarkSun stuff wich I didn’t had a chance to DM (I manage to buy every supplement and book). My players got from Freedom to Arcane Shadows (using 2Ed rules).
The question is: Has anybody converted (or planning to convert) the stats for the original DS gaming material? If no one is at this, maybe I’ll try to do some convertion (when I finally read the 4ED manuals) and post here to see if I get some feedback. I hope to find someone willing to help, so I can prepare my Asticlian Gambit 4Ed. module and return to the world of athas! :D
P.S.: of course the convertion would be more like remaking the characters with the new rules, as I know there will be no method to really convert 2E to 4E

Many of the threads here are discussions based on the 4E book, once you have read that I suggest you look back through the threads here, particularly the later posts in each thread, as there is a bit of editing on the fly. There is a 4E Dark Sun PDF being compiled if I understand the plan correctly but it doesn’t exist yet. I would suggest that the 4E book for system and the 2E material for flavor text doesn’t actually require that much conversion, the two fit rather well.
The hard part will be monsters, take monster stat blocks from the 4E monster manual and rename them as DS monsters, just pick something of the level you need and go, as you get into it you will start picking the 4E monsters based on the ability and tactical function you need for a particular encounter then just paint it differently and your good.
