Seems I can’t be logged in as my user_name and access (view) “The Pit” forums. I can view it just fine when I’m not logged in.
here’s the error I get:

Title is 500 (which is an Internal Server Error)
and the page displays

We’re sorry, but something went wrong.

We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.

All other forums appear to be working fine.
Though a 500 error usually shuts down the process so I’m guessing this error was hand-coded in (htaccess or .config in Apache). It’s not a true 500 error. =P

Also, if you’re wondering how I have posted in The Pit forums I just navigate to the page first I want to reply on while not logged in. Then log into the forums in another Tab (window) to set the cookie so I can complete the reply.

Just out of interest …...
The same problem occurs if you try and edit your user profile on athas.org

Yeah. I’ve been getting the error as well … The reason you can get in when not logged in is because the error comes from rendering the “new topic” link … Not sure why it dies there, and not anywhere else. it just started recently too, and I havn’t updated the forum software—though I did update a bunch of ruby libraries over the weekend.

Got it.
It was in a block of code that isn’t rendered until a forum spills on to a second page.
Love finding out that I’m using something a bit more … raw … than I had expected. At least it’s in a framework I’m good with…
