Avangion of the Kreen

Anyone ever use The Sage from Simon Hawke’s novels to explain the avangion face on the Chak’sa? His lighthouse in Bodach seemed to have some time travel properties (or was that just an illusion?). Maybe once his transformation is completed he could fly out the window and help to found kreen civilization in the Green Age? I know it’s wacky, but hey, just as wacky as Oronis going back in time. |

Due to the fact that the Sages lighthouse leads to a time in Athas’s past I’d say it is most definitly possible that Chak’sa is the Sages bust. If I were going to make the land green again and bring about the destruction of the remaining Dragon Kings I’d want an army of fanatically devoted super-bugs on my side too. |

Assuming that the Sage is an avangion and his metamorphosis won’t kill him (see my second post on http://arena.athas.org/forums/the-pit/topics/av… ), having a crazed bug man army does seem like a great idea. But… since I prefer to have the kreen empire be baddies, my own version of events would have the Sage be killed or eaten (mmm magically marinated elf flesh) or otherwise done away with by the Haazi and the zik-chil (their zik-trin deface the Chak’sa after all). His historical influence, however, would pave the way for Oronis or another avangion taking command of the normal thri-kreen and tohr-kreen and maybe, just maybe, defeating the Haazi. |

Ah… don’t be so hard on the Kreen. If you had an empire that all of a sudden went apes&*t crazy, you’d be pissed at the fleshies too. Remember, the Order’s grand plan, if it effected the table lands out to the Road of Fire, effect the same distance in all directions. The Empire would have been a gnarly mess. I would want to find out what happened and stop it too. And if that meant eating those responsible, so be it. |

Did Oronis develop the avangion transformation by himself? Or did he have help? Could the Great One be that help? |
