I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but I will try:
After a month pause yesterday we played again our DS round. My players survived Freedom, but only survived. We then played a handmade adventure which brought them into the smoking crown, to destroy an artifact which posed a threat for the newfound freedom of Tyr. They came back to Tyr and we started with Road to Urik.
Because they befriended Sadira in the last adventure I made her their contact, and their first mission was to persuade Senator Vildeen of Tyrthani to send more troops to the army which shall defend Tyr. He was unwilling and they tried to convince him, that sending more troops would enhance his status among all Tyrians. Since he was not interested in some kind of fame, they finally asked him what he wanted and so he told them, that he wanted to have steel for 10 swords. They dealt him down to the diggingrights equal to the ten swords in the iron mine. But when Sadira heard this she was in rage, and they contempled what to do.In the end, they went to Vildeen again and brought him the lousy men which he had sent for support and told that they did not need his help, if he is that short on resources. After that they engaged some street guys to spread the rumor that Vildeen is short on money, and that his resources had been severely damaged during the riots that followed Kalaks death.
We had to stop there, and we had a lot of good roleplaying, but I am still not sure what Senator Vildeen will make. For sure he is offended, but how will he react?
I’m really looking forward to next week.

Thanks for the write-up. Sounds like an interesting session.
The senator will probably return the favor. If he discovers the PCs are the ones spreading the rumors he will probably start damaging rumors of his own about the PCs and their fitness for positions of authority, i.e. they are incompotent, corrupt. He could even twist the PCs dealing with him back on them – “They (the PCs) refused to accept the troops I raised for the army, unless I pay them a bribe. Of course I refused to do so when the city is in such danger. These fools must be striped of their position if they are so reckless when our city’s survival is at stake.”

Yesterday’s evening was almost completely filled with an encounter with a pack of Jhakar directly followed by an attack of a dire athasian landshark. The fight with the landshark was real fun because the landshark did not hit one time, but the heros couldn’t deal a lot of damage because the nasty armor of landshark. It still brings a smile about my face when remember the Psi Master jumping at the Preserver who left the ground for levitating. A nice jump attack from the top of the roof by our mul gladiator and a sole dwarfen cleric standing face to face with the landshark made it real fun.
The heros were engaged by a dwarfen free man who had aquired a piece of land which was ridden by the landshark. We will go with the Road to Urik adventure next week, but this week I wanted to start with a fight, which in the end took most of the evening.

Yesterday we started with selling parts of the landshark, before the PC’s ran into Puram (spy from Urik) and Rhac (tyrian templar) talking about some treachery. They made short work of Puram but Rhac escaped. Puram was given to the tyrian templars, and they talked to Sadira which told them to talk with the Minthur family for more troops. At the door of the Minthur house they were told to meet with Verrasi at ‘Kalaks Demise’. The preserver recognized Verrasi as the one who brought him to slavery and was very rude in the negotiation. Nevertheless the Psi Thief was able to talk to him on a good basis and Verrasi told them to destroy the granaries of the Freydlahv family. We stopped when they were planning what to do now.

My players succesfully destroyed the granaries of house Freydlahv after more than an hour talking about the possibilities to get away with the korn. They did not came up with a good idea and finaly they started the raid. The raid was quite good planned so they were very successfull. The dwarf was even able to sneak for the very first time.
The next day they met with Sadira who talked about the morning meeting in which Vildeen started some trouble and accused the heroes of threatening him to not send troops. But fortunatly Senator Verrasi and Senator Mensarb of Sorvall spoke for them, so they do not have to fear something offical. The heroes didn’t know who was Mensarb, but they plan to visit and thank her. Furthermore Sadira told them about Turloff and Sintha starting trouble. Turloff of the craftsmen accused Sintha and the merchants in general of being war profiteers. When Sintha demanded an apology and Turloff denied the meeting stopped in a turmoil. She wanted the heroes to look for the hotheads. They found Turloff in front of Sintha’s emporium together with a mob of craftsmen. Just when Sintha sent some mercenaries to get Turloff, the PsiThief took over Turloff and cooled the whole scene with a little diplomacy. In this scene the player of the PsiThief was really good. The evening ended when the heroes talked to Turloff who was not so fond of being controlled, but he admitted afterwards that their decision was right and in this way they prevented a fight between the craftsmen and the soldiers.
Besides the long discussion about stealing the corn it was a very good session with all players interested and some nice roleplaying.
