one of my dm’s, long having interest in dark sun, decided to run a short one-shot campaign there in honor of his brother’s friend from waaaaay back coming out to visit us here in southern california. which is actually how i came to find and join the athas site and forum here, woot!

anyhow, he is running a survival of the fittest one-day-only-all-day-long campaign where we will start at 2nd level and see how long we can survive the dm trying to kill us using-in-game-context. ^^ harsh dark sun lifestyle at its worst! every time we die, we continue with a character 2 levels higher… all the way up to 20th level. this way we get to try a wide range of levels and see how it all plays out. chances are we will be mixed levels before too long, so that will be another great testing opportunity.

player ingenuity vs dm ingenuity. and considering that we are all long time rp-ers… this should be quite the epic battle sequence. ^^ plus it’ll get us well into the feel of the campaign setting, so it’ll make great practice for a later more long-term campaign. =D
