The people of Athas have some very serious disadvantages when compared to the people of other worlds when it comes to crafting of items. They don’t have reliable or cheap access to metals, and that puts them at a disadvantage. That said, the Wanderer’s Journal makes it clear that Athasians are very adaptive, and make the best of a bad situation. That’s why I want to present the Master baseclass from the 3.5 Dragonlance setting (War of the Lance), and Master’s Forge: Crafting Legends from Dragon Magazine #358 as options for use in your Dark Sun games.
