I would suggest the real strengths of the Misty Border/Rajaat idea is this. First, it can reflect Rajaat’s mental state. AKA overwhelming rage and madness, even frustration. Second, the limits of Rajaat’s ability or resources. Creatures like chimera are not subtle and would mostly only cause carnage. Perhaps it’s the best he can do. Third, it can be symbolic of Rajaat’s Crusade. Ugly, brutal and has no future (if those beasts are infertile).
