Athasian Mount from the Original Boxed Set - What is it?

I would refer to the horned, chameleon/triceratops version of the mekillot as false-makillot, a smaller unrelated creature that is only conflated with the real mekillot because athasians looking at huge reptilian beasts of burden automatically thinks “mekillot!”

I think we all like this Baxa sketch. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

BTW what creature is that?

There’s no official creature name for it. I always wanted to use it, but never have.

Seems accurate albeit not in the ‘mega’ type, maybe like a large creature.

My guess it’s just something weird that Tom Baxa drew that was never codified. Too small to be a megapede, too domesticated to be a giant centipede, but definitely not a kank (too many legs, segmented body). It could be some sort of giant centipede (ranger or druid animal friendship, psionicist controlled?) or you could make up something new. Good catch. I’ve never pondered the answer.
