My account used to have the ability to change posts (including other user’s posts), reopen closed posts, change categories and so on and I appear to have lost this ability. Can the person in charge increase the trust level of my account?
@flip can you do anything about this? My forum powers are nil. I can’t even perform the basic functions to which I am accustomed.
literally nothing, code-wise, has been changed here for … far too long, really, so I’m not sure what would have triggered anything.
… but, I think I see what’s happened. Maybe. Discourse sort of automatically fluctuates trust levels, and it looks like you may have fallen from 3 to 2, which … may have removed some abilities. I’ve pinned you back at level 3. those criteria are mostly the discord defaults, and … could probably be retuned for the level of traffic we really expect to get.
editing someone else’s posts, unless it’s been marked as a wiki, is right out – that’s a pretty bad misconfiguration, and I’ve cleared that from all non-moderator configs.
Thanks. Previously I would have been able to reopen this thread -
Which closed in 24 hours automatically. Can you do something to permit me to reopen closed threads?
No. But I can tune the settings of that particular forum topic; it was originally set for a very short timeout because the purpose was cloning over threads as they existed, not as a place to continue discussions. That’s obviously drifted.
