Blue-Age: the Azu-Sea Region:

Dark Sun: The Blue Age:The Sea of Azu Region

Environment: a moist, salty ocean-world. The seas and shores are covered in algae. The air is not breathable: Low-oxygen: You need a mask and oxygen. The sun has a blue-hue. You get sunburns faster. The very southern part of the region, near the equator, planets will not grow and sunburns happen in minutes. Ice, dominates; glaciers cover the northern and southern parts of Athas to the mid-latitudes. This causes intense-storms.

The People: there are no people here; just Mind-Flayers and their Gith-slaves. The Gith, can actually breathe just fine here thanks to air-sacks in their skin.

Locations:

The Dome-City: Kthäesogdruum: is ruled by the God-King, Mind-Flayer: Glorg-Quah-Ammur-Cthakthoornqyggshukshurrhanog. All Mind-Flayers are his psychic-slaves in this city; the rest are Gith-slaves. There are Human, Elves, Dwarves here; not as slaves, but, as food. They are brought in from a world they call, “Oun”, via the Launch-Base or the Stargate. The city itself, has a massive pyramid, in the center; the home to the God-King in cased in a giant, glass-dome to keep the good-air in.

The Dissenters: given the large population of Mind-Flayers in this city (thousands), every now and then, a few are able to break the pscionic-enslavement by the God-King: they are called the, Zulgalhus and they are constantly hunted by the Kthals, a kind of secret-police to ensure every mind-flayer is still enslaved to the God-King.

The Launch-Base: the port into and off of Athas. Occasionally, a group of Zulgalhus will take over the base and hijack a spaceship and escape off world.

The Comm-Station: a faster-than-light communication station. The mind-flayers are linked to other mind-flayer controlled worlds.

The Stargate: The mind-flayers didn’t build it and they don’t know who did; it’s a circular object, the size of a city, that orbits the Pyramid. Looking up at it’s ring-like design, you can see the black of space and stars. Going through it, takes you, instantly, to another mind-flayer colony-world, called, “Zhaummaz”. It takes a full year to make the circular-orbit of the Pyramid; it shifts over time and the beginning of the year is southeast.

The Pyramid: and old, rusty metal-pyramid sitting on an ancient-continent; the Stargate revolves around it once a year.

The Halfling: a gargantuan, mysterious creature captured in the Islands of Juk. The mind-flayers trapped it and used Gith-slaves to build massive seawalls to keep it in the crater; they don’t know what it is other than it’s alive; pscionic-probes yield nothing, other than, it’s hungry. Gith that get too close to the sea there, disappear; centuries ago, the God-King would sacrifice live being to it, the creature didn’t grant any powers.

Ghizgar & Ghroki: Slave-villages of Gith that work the field around the Dome-City and the Comm-Station, respectively.

Githarg: a slave-village of Gith that work the Mines of the Island of Rhan.

Janki: A free-village of Gith that have escaped the mind-flayers. They survive by whatever means necessary. At times, the Githghaz, Gith slaves tasked to hunt down escaped Gith will try to raid, but they are always unsuccessful.

The Island of Rhan: a volcano-island with a rich mine. It’s tropical and any further south, plants just won’t grow.

The Sea of Azu; It’s a massive ocean. It’s very salty and full of algae and mirco-organisms. There are no fish in it; there are only fish in the waters of the Juk Islands. Fishing is dangerous there because of the Halfling. The freed-slaves of Janki know this.

The Island of Korg: a land Gith say, is where freedom lies, in the west. Once there, it’s like a paradise.

The Northlands and the Ice. Cold, rainy, wet, and more cold.
