These things might never get a name, but it seems like they might be based roughly on this critter (no webs though):
This other thing is actually an insect that spins webs using it’s forelimbs:
It would be an interesting touch if the critters in the novels spun web using organs in their forelimbs.
I’m tempted to call these things from the novel Spinner Bipes or just Web Lizards.
