This post is not an affirmation, but a supposition.
I have come to consider the possibility that feylaar and aviarag were started as species during the Rebirth by nature-masters wanting to personally escape civilization while remaining intelligent, and thus created noble ape and noble great cat species that (unlike elves, wemics, kobolds, and others) wouldn’t want to form civilizations of their own. Thus themselves and their children got to experience the attraction of living in nature as an apex predator while remaining intelligent, and being too damn dangerous for slavery, ensuring their continued freedom.
