Grymetheans are manifesters who depend on the power of anger and the heat of battle to draw out their greatest ability. They draw upon their inner supplies best through anger and violence. To an grymethean, combat is a means of better exploring the nature of their psyche and improving their abilities.
Grymetheans are most often elves, half-elves, humans, or mul. These races are the least disciplined and take most easily to the unique brand of self-discovery that the grymethean uses. Dwarves almost never become grymetheans; their minds are far too ordered to take well to such a path.
In order to become an grymethean a character must have at least one level each of wilder and barbarian; beyond that, almost any sort of character can qualify. Very few rogues or bards choose to be grymetheans. The abilities of rogues and bards are best suited to hiding in the background of battle, while grymetheans are normally the first to leap into it. Psions and wizards also rarely deign to ‘descend to the level of animals’, as most of them see it

Class Features
All the following are class features of the grymethean.
Weapons and Armor Proficiency: Grymetheans gain no additional proficiency with weapons or armor.
Emotional Rage: The grymethean works to harness the raw power of his emotions and can use them against his enemies in battle. At 1st level and every even level thereafter, the grymethean unlocks the power of one fragment of his emotions. He can add the power of these emotional fragments to his rage class ability. The grymethean may only use one fragment at a time, plus one per five class levels; the emotions used for any particular rage are chosen at the time the grymethean initiates that rage, and can not be changed until that range has run its course. Emotion fragments are chosen from the following list.
Anger: This emotion fragment taps the true power of the grymethean’s rage. An grymethean under the influence of an anger emotion fragment recieves an additional +2 bonus to Strength and Constitution, and an additional +1 bonus to will saves for the duration of his rage. This stacks with the bonuses from his rage class ability, and any other rage-affecting abilities he may have, such as Greater Rage or Mighty Rage.
Anticipation: An grymethean under the influence of an anticipation emotion fragment recieves a +4 floating Insight bonus that he can freely redistribute between armor class, saving throws, and attack rolls each round of his rage.
Courage: This works in a manner similar to the bard’s Inspire Courage class ability. An grymethean under the influence of a courage emotion fragment recieves a +2 bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects, a +2 bonus on skill checks, and a +2 bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls for the duration of his rage. He also gains 1 temporary hit point per 2 class levels.
Disgust: An grymethean under the influence of a disgust emotion fragment is treated as being the subject of an aversion power for all those he designates as enemies for the duration of his rage. The range for this ability is only 15 ft. instead of the 30 ft. for when the power is manifested normally.
Envy: Whenever an grymethean under the influence of an envy emotion fragment successfully deals damage to a target that is subject to mind-affecting effects, he drains 1d6 power points from the target. He also recieves 1 temporary power point. If the damage dealt was on a critical hit, 1d10 power points are drained instead, and the grymethean receives 1d4 temporary power points.
Greed: An grymethean under the influence of a greed emotion fragment recieves 1 temporary hit point for every 5 damage he deals during the course of his rage.
[i]Joy:[/b] An grymethean under the influence of a joy emotion fragment may freely deal subdual damage instead of lethal damage for the course of his rage. Whenever he substitutes subdual damage for all the lethal damage he would deal with an attack or effect, he may deal an additional 2d6 damage with that effect.
Pride: An grymethean under the influence of a pride emotion fragment has Damage Reduction 3/- for the duration of his rage. This overlaps (does not stack with) other damage reduction he may have.
Loyalty: An grymethean under the influence of a loyalty emotion fragment may manifest the Empathic Transfer power once per round as a swift action at no cost. Augmentation carries twice the normal power point cost.
Scorn: An grymethean under the influence of a scorn emotion fragment deals 1d76 additional damage whenever he makes a successful melee attack for the duration of his rage. Also, whenever he scores a critical threat, the subject must make a will save (DC 10 + 1/2 Grymethean level + Cha modifier) or be stunned for one round. (Creatures not subject to mind-affecting effects are immune to this effect.)
Sorrow: An grymethean under the influence of a sorrow emotion fragment gains a touch attack that bestows a crippling sadness on its subjects for the duration of his rage. Any humanoid, monstrous humanoid, magical beast, or giant subject to mind-affecting effects touched by the grymethean must succeed succeed a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 Grymethean level + Cha modifier) or be dazed for 1 round and suffer a -2 morale penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, ability checks, and skill checks for the duration of the grymethean’s rage.
Serenity: An grymethean under the influence of a serenity emotion fragment exhibits a calming aura for the duration if his rage. All creatures within 20 ft radius around him are affected as though by a calm emotions spell with a Will save DC of 10 + 1/2 grymethean level + Cha modifier. An grymethean under the influence of a serenity emotion fragment does not recieve the benefits of his rage; he does, however, gain a +2 Insight bonus to deflection armor class, manifester level checks, and power save DCs, and a +4 Insight bonus on Will saves.
Terror: Whenever an grymethean under the influence of a terror emotion fragment deals damage to a creature subject to mind-affecting effects, that creature must must succeed on a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 Grymethean level + Cha modifier) or become shaken for the duration of the grymethean’s rage.
Wild Surge: This functions exactly like the wilder ability of the same name. If the grymethean has wild surge bonuses from another source, they stack.
Focused Rage: The grymethean is able to keep his psionic focus through the course of a rage, and make Psicraft and Autohypnosis checks during it. He is also able to manifest powers and use class features from his wilder class, but not from any other manifesting class he may have.
Rage: This functions exactly like the barbarian ability of the same name. If the grymethean has rage uses per day form another source, they stack.
Surging Euphoria: This functions exactly like the wilder ability of the same name. If the grymethean has surging euphoria bonuses from another source, they stack.
Resounding Emotion: Beginning at 9th level, the duration of an grymethean’s rage is doubled.
